Police question driver after pedestrian struck by car

A man has been arrested after an incident in Pembroke Road, Salisbury, on Friday (23 Sept)

Officers were called at around 11.45am following reports that a car had hit a pedestrian.

A man in his 40s suffered multiple injuries and was taken to hospital but has since been discharged.

The vehicle involved had driven off from the scene, and officers carried out enquiries to trace it and the driver.

A man in his 60s was later arrested on suspicion of GBH with intent, causing serious injury by dangerous driving, driving a vehicle which failed to stop after a road accident, failure to report an accident and using a vehicle without insurance.

He has since been released under investigation while enquiries continue.
