A man's been arrested within hours of a series of garage break-ins in Larkhill.

Police were called just after 7.00am yesterday morning (Friday 11th November) to reports that a number of garages in McQueen Walk had been targeted.

Tools worth several thousand pounds were taken.

Officers' enquiries led them to a vehicle thought to have been used in the incidents, which was located in Roman Road in Salisbury.

A man in his 30s, from the Bemerton Heath area has been arrested on suspicion of non-dwelling burglary.

Inspector Tina Osborn said:

“Officers acted swiftly to conduct enquiries at the scene which led to the identification of a vehicle believed to have been involved in these burglaries, and the subsequent arrest of an individual.

“Although we have made an arrest, our enquiries are very much in their infancy and we would urge residents in the McQueen Walk and Lightfoot Road areas to check their CCTV, doorbell cameras or dash cams for any relevant footage which could assist our investigation. We’d also urge anyone who was in the area overnight who may have seen or heard any suspicious activity to contact us.”
