Wiltshire Police tell us they responded to the alarm being activated at Amesbury Lidl just after 1.00am today (Monday 18th January).

It's alleged a quantity of alcohol had been stolen.

Officers spotted a man walking away from the scene, crossing the road into a wooded area.

The man was stopped coming out of that area by the Folly Bottom bridge over the A303.

We're told a man in his 30s was arrested on suspicion of burglary and remains in custody at Melksham Police Station.
