The majority of critically ill patients seen in Salisbury's Intensive Care Unit have been unvaccinated.

Martin Cook who is a consultant at the ICU has expressed concern on social media:

He also explained:

"By unvaccinated, I mean never vaccinated at all against SARS-CoV-2. We have seen some partially or fully vaccinated become seriously ill with infection, but these patients often have other significant health conditions."

As of today (10th January) 18 patients with Covid are currently being treated at our district hospital.

Meanwhile 84 staff are absent due to Covid or self isolating.

Visiting remains suspended at the hospital with the exception of those receiving End of Life care, the maternity department and those visiting children.
