Ludgershall man sentenced for being drunk in charge of a child in public
He admitted two further charges at Salisbury Magistrates Court
A man from Ludgershall has been sentenced after pleading guilty to numerous charges, including being drunk in charge of a child in a public place.
Marvyn Moreman, of Short Street, Ludgershall, was found intoxicated and asleep in a garden in Durrington on 11th September 2023, with a small baby in a pram next to him.
After some time, police managed to wake the 29-year-old and arrested him.
It transpired that Moreman had stolen alcohol from the nearby Tesco, which officers found in the pram, which added shoplifting to the charges in court.
Moreman also vomited in the prisoner cage whilst en route to custody, as well as exposing himself and urinating in the van.
He pleaded guilty to three charges at Salisbury Magistrates Court on 20th October and was sentenced at the same court on Friday (17th November) to rehabilitation activities, a 120 day Alcohol Abstinence Requirement as well as £85 CPS costs and £114 surcharge.
