Road closed after truck gets jammed

The A36 Warminster Road in Wilton to be closed this morning (Fri 28 Oct) after a lorry hit the railway bridge.

The route has now re-opened (as of 1.15pm):

It happened around 9.30am between the A30 St Peter Fugglestone Roundabout and Kingsway.

The articulated truck became wedged under the bridge.

Police say the driver is being dealt with for careless driving.

It could take a while to safely remove the lorry

Salisbury Police have thanked drivers for their patience while the incident was being dealt with.
