Each council will get a day to share their stories of football inspired fostering and throughout the World Cup, a series of film clips will be released on social media, featuring players, carers, young people and staff with the hashtags #FosterGreatness & #FosterWithYourCouncil
Wiltshire's football-inspired foster family
Wiltshire’s day will be on Tuesday 15th August and will include Rob and his daughter Erin, who plays football for a Wiltshire football club.
Rob and wife Lucy have four daughters of their own and have fostered with Wiltshire Council for five years.
Rob said: “Wiltshire Council has been fantastic at looking after us, giving us the suitable training. They’re always at the end of the phone and we have a great relationship with our social workers as well which has been fantastic.
“We’ve certainly enjoyed our experience and let me tell you it’s not easy all the time, it’s certainly tough but those things in life which can be tough are often the most rewarding.”
