A scaffold tower loaned to Bemerton Heath Harlequins Football Club has been stolen.

The aluminium structure was taken from the club's ground at some point between 9pm on Tuesday (5th January) and 7am on Wednesday (6th).

It was loaned to them by a company and they are "desperate" to return it to them.

Police say that the ground is very well secured and it is believed the suspects would have gained access to the premises via the lane to the back of the property on Western Way.

On their website, the football club said:

"The club are mortified and we can only hope we can find the mindless idiots who have obviously taken advantage of the new lockdown rules to disrupt the improvements to our community club by their selfish act of stealing this tower."

They want everyone to keep an eye out to see if a similar item is being sold online.

Anyone with any information regarding this theft is urged to contact police on 101 and quote crime reference number 54210001689.
