£1,180 has been donated to Wiltshire Air Ambulance by Laverstock and Ford Football Club, following a medical emergency at their derby game last week.

Assistant referee Andy Brown suffered a stroke and bleed on the brain, 26 minutes into the match against Bemerton Heath Harlequins on Tuesday (27th December).

He was airlifted to Southampton General Hospital, where he's been undergoing treatment ever since.

The Bulldogs, who were hosting the game at The Dell, decided to give all the profits from gate entry to the game to Wiltshire Air Ambulance, as a thank you for their 'swift work'.

The club say it's a 'small gesture, but we hope it makes a big difference'.

Harlequins have also praised Laverstock for their efforts, both on the day and with the donation.

A date for the rescheduling of the fixture has yet to be confirmed by the Wessex Premier League.
