Late night shopping is back in Salisbury city centre for one night only (Thursday 5th December), to pick up some Christmas bits and feel a little more festive.

More than 100 stores and businesses are taking part in the event, opening until 7.00pm this evening.

It used to be a city tradition that stores were open later on Thursdays in the run-up to Christmas, with the idea being reimagined by Experience Salisbury.

Many of the shops getting involved are putting on special deals for customers during the evening.

Live music's also planned to entertain shoppers, from the likes of the Bishop Wordsworth students and scholars, Salisbury Pluckers ukulele group, the Salisbury City Band, and Wiltshire College and University Centre Music Department.

There'll be 'happy elf helpers' on hand around the city, directing people to where they’d like to go and handing out maps and information, as well as promoting the offers available on the night.
