Large knife and drugs found after police stop vehicle in Salisbury

A large knife was recovered by officers from** Salisbury** after they stopped and searched a Ford Ranger in the city.

The incident took place yesterday (Wednesday 18th November) at around 9:40am on Castle Street.

But the weapon was not the only thing found by the force.

Ball bearings and a catapult were also located on the drivers side of the vehicle, along with the knife.

Cannabis was also recovered during the search.

The driver of the vehicle was arrested, but not for any of these offences.

A spokesperson for Wiltshire Police told us:

"The 32-year-old male driver was arrested as he was wanted on warrant for failing to attend court. He was taken to police custody and remanded to appear at Salisbury Magistrates Court.

Due to that, he was not arrested for the other offences, they will be dealt with separately."
