A Land Rover stolen from outside a home in South Wiltshire has been found destroyed in the New Forest.

The vehicle was taken overnight (Tuesday 29th into Wednesday 30th March) from Bennett Close in Redlynch, and later found nine miles away in Cadnam, where it had been set alight.

A spokesperson for Wiltshire Police told Greatest Hits Radio:

"Earlier this morning (30/03) we received a report of a Land Rover being stolen overnight from outside a property in Redlynch. The vehicle was located a short time later in the Hampshire area. Our enquiries are ongoing, but anyone with information should call 101 quoting crime reference 54220032350.”

The vehicle was taken from outside a property in Redlynch while the family slept.

Molly McCormick's family owned the Land Rover, and she's told us the impact of the theft is huge:

"Our family feel violated and heart broken by this. This Land Rover meant more than just a vehicle, it was my step dads pride, joy and apart of English heritage. So sad that this has been destroyed for people’s pleasure."

The incident comes just weeks after a mini bus was stolen a short walk away at Morgans Vale and Woodfalls Primary.

That vehicle was also found burnt out in the New Forest.

Wiltshire Police say the incidents are not being linked but 'enquiries are at an early stage.'
