Plea to keep Salisbury clean as city reopens
With more people out and about it's important we all do our bit
Salisbury City Council is urging residents to help keep the city clean.
With shops and pubs able to reopen today (12th April), there's a plea for us to do our bit to help by keeping the city tidy.
With restrictions easing, more people are likely to be walking around the city and the local authority say it is "**so important"** litter is taken home and not dropped.
A spokesperson for Salisbury City Council said:
"The team at the City Council have found abandoned personal protective equipment, rubbish and dog mess in local parks and green areas. Not only is this harmful to the environment, but children also play in these areas.
Please keep Salisbury clean and make it look as good as it can be for its re-opening by taking litter home or putting it in the bins provided. By working together, you can help us make sure that our city is a clean and enjoyable space to visit."
READY TO WELCOME BACK VISITORS
Salisbury BID have been making sure businesses are ready for the return of customers.
In the last few weeks ranger Andy Milton has been sprucing up the city cleaning signs and giving bollards a fresh lick of paint!
Meanwhile the colourful bunting has made a comeback!
In total, about 4.5 kilometres of bunting is flying across the city to welcome back shoppers and visitors.
