Southern League Division One side Bemerton Heath Harlequins have appointed a new First Team Manager.

James Milligan has taken the reigns at the A-Class arena, taking over from caretaker boss Danny Young.

Milligan has a range of experience in non-league football having worked at Cheddar, Wells and most recently Shaftesbury, where he won promotion from the Wessex Premier League to the Southern League.

The club said in a post on Facebook: "We are delighted that he has chosen to continue his football career at Bemerton."

The new boss will start work straight away with his first fixture in charge coming next Saturday (21st September) away at Evesham.

The club also thanked caretaker player/manager Danny Young after his three-week spell in charge.

"We must give a special thanks to Danny Young who has served as interim manager for the last 3 weeks and allowed us the time to find the right permanent manager.

"Danny will now concentrate on his recovery from a recent knee injury and we look forward to seeing him back in a black/white shirt as soon as possible."
