McCarthy and Stone have celebrated their Salisbury development becoming their 100th retirement home by donating £100 to five local charities.

The developer's 'Monument Place' site on Endless Street, which officially opened a couple of weeks ago, saw them a hit a century of elderly communities.

Five organisations across Salisbury and Wiltshire have benefitted from this, including:

  • Horatio's Garden
  • Burnbake Trust
  • Cancer Support Salisbury
  • Alzheimer's Support Wiltshire
  • Salisbury Hospice Charity

Nicki Beswarick, Divisional Marketing Manager at McCarthy and Stone Southern, said:

"An important part of what we do here at McCarthy and Stone is support initiatives in the communities in which we build to help create a lasting, positive legacy.

We will be opening the doors to our Monument Place Retirement Living Plus development in November and this is a very important milestone for us, so we wanted to celebrate by giving something back to the local community.

It was an absolute pleasure to present the donations to these very deserving charities, particularly at a time when many local initiatives have had to put most of their fundraising efforts on hold. All of us here at McCarthy and Stone in Salisbury wish them every success with their work in helping to improve lives of so many within the community."

The developer has two sites next to each other in Salisbury now, as Monument Place runs parallel to their other new 'Castle Gate' building.
