A house in Amesbury has been given a closure order after concerns regarding anti social behaviour there.

It means that nobody other than residents, police or those authorised by Wiltshire Council, can enter the property in Maple Way.

It's in place for three months.

Anyone caught breaching the order will be committing a criminal offence and will be prosecuted.

PCSO Sam Flippance said:

“We have been receiving regular reports from neighbours of anti social behaviour including noise complaints and disorderly behaviour coming from this address which is of great concern to us, and the residents living nearby.”

Police say that the address had regular police visits and patrols, but the anti social behaviour continued.

PSCO Flippance added:

“Based on this information, we applied for a closure order to prevent the anti-social behaviour associated with the address which has been causing distress for residents living in the local area.

“We will continue to carry out patrols in the area and work in partnership with local authorities to ensure the order is adhered to.”

The penalty for breaching the closure order is up to 51 weeks in prison, a fine, or both.
