Queen's Birthday Honours 2022: Wiltshire and Hampshire people recognised
Congratulations to all those honoured!
The Queen's Birthday Honours List for 2022 has been revealed, as part of the Platinum Jubilee celebrations.
A number of people from South Wiltshire and West Hampshire have been included for their efforts in a range of fields.
They include 79 year old Gillian Clarke from Amesbury - who's been given an MBE for services to young people and the community in Amesbury.
Gillian is the Captain of the 1st Amesbury Girls' Brigade and has run the Junior Church at Amesbury Methodist Church since 1998.
She's also a voluntary governor at the Stonehenge School, helps to organise local litter picks and Remembrance activities for the town, puts together floats for Amesbury Carnival and has supported archaeological digs at Blick Mead.
Locally, there's been an OBE awarded to Virginia Bennett from Salisbury, for services to Climate Change Law.
She's a Senior Lawyer at the Government's Department for Business, Energy and Industrial Strategy.
Warren Marks from Salisbury has been honoured with an OBE for services to defence and security for his role as a Senior Principal Scientist at DSTL at Porton Down.
An OBE has also been given to Christine Blackmore from Stockbridge, for services to fostering - she's a carer on behalf of Hampshire County Council.
Hampshire's Chief Fire Officer Neil Odin has also been honoured - given the Queen's Fire Service Medal.
