A three week project to replace some traffic lights in a Wiltshire village gets underway today (Monday 17th March).

The Council will be working on Church Road in Heywood, near Westbury.

The lights are said to have come to the end of their life - but the works will mean a road closure needs to be put in place for the duration.

Parvis Khansari, Corporate Director - Place at Wiltshire Council, said:

"We have a comprehensive traffic signal refurbishment programme in place, which helps us to identify and prioritise traffic lights that need refurbishing after they have reached the end of their design life.

"We apologise for any inconvenience this may cause, however, improvements like this ensure all road users can travel around easily and safely."
