A local woman is raising funds for Salisbury Hospice Charity after they cared for her late mum.

Tracey Percy has 'braved the shave' by going live on Facebook at her home on Bishopdown Farm.

Her mobile hairdresser, Matt Veale, shaved her head on Friday 16th April, after restrictions were lifted, allowing hairdressers to go back to work.

This was the most convenient date near to the 2nd anniversary of her mums passing.

She has raised £1200 so far, including Gift Aid, for Salisbury Hospice Charity.

GIVING BACK

Tracey is raising money after the Hospice cared for her mum when she was diagnosed with Pancreatic Cancer in April 2019.

"My Mum was in the Hospice for just 9 days, almost two years ago, it was only diagnosed a couple of weeks before she died.

"The staff and volunteers there were very helpful and supportive of our family and so I decided to try and raise some much-needed funds for them."

It is not the first time Tracey has thought about shaving her hair off.

About five years ago her sister went through chemotherapy and lost all her hair, Tracey was going to support her but couldn't quite bring herself to do it.

"I was a bit of a wuss, but last year my sister and I did our own version of Race for Life, as the main one was cancelled, we raised over £700 for Cancer Research and the STARS Appeal.

"This year I thought I would let my sister off and do the shave solo."
