Have your say on revamped Asda plans for Salisbury
An exhibition is being held today (Saturday 20th November)
People in Salisbury can find out more information about the planned £20m Asda store in Salisbury today (Saturday 20th November).
A public exhibition is being held at Hampton Park Pavilion after proposals were announced for land next to the roundabout.
It would bring a new £20million store to the area and create up to 250 jobs if approved.
The latest proposals include a 30,000 square foot store, petrol station, drive thru and restaurant.
Land around the store would also be developed to create a green space.
From 2:30pm until 7:30pm a team from the supermarket will be on hand to explain the plans and answer any questions people have.
In 2017, Asda had a planning application for the same location approved by Wiltshire Council, after submitting the original plans in 2014.
HAVE YOUR SAY
The company say that last time they were given a lot of community support, and they're asking for the people of Salisbury to get involved once again.
A consultation has been launched on the Asda website for people to have their say.
An Asda spokesperson said:
“This proposal will see us invest in Salisbury for the long-term, bringing jobs and new opportunities to the city, as well as fulfilling customer demand for a convenient, competitively priced grocery offer on their doorstep.
“We previously received a high level of support for this development and would like to invite the community to engage with us once again, giving them the chance to ask questions about our plans for the future of this site.”
