Tidworth residents are being asked to make their views known about a new £7 million Community Civic Centre in the town.

It's a joint project between Tidworth Town Council and Wiltshire Police.

The facility will serve as policing hub for Tidworth and Amesbury while sharing costs by partnering with the local authority.

It's going to replace the current community centre, that is situated near to the War Memorial.

Before a planning application is submitted early next year, they want to hear from the general public and get their views on the plans.

The** full details are on the town council website**, but they are also holding some virtual meetings to explain the plans further.

One is held today (Thursday December 17th) at 4pm, with another on Wednesday 13th January at the same time.

Where the centre will be located

People can make their comments about the centre by emailing tidworthciviccentre@oxford-architects.com.

About the project, the county's Police and Crime Commissioner, Angus Macpherson, said:

"This is an exciting project to be working on alongside Tidworth Town Council. As outlined within my Estates Strategy, shared public estate not only gives us the opportunity to work closer with our partners but also shares financial investment whilst giving our Force new, modern facilities from which to work.

It's important our staff and officers are satisfied with their place of work and this new location will be a much more appropriate and pleasant base."
