The annual Open Garden at Hatch House has raised over £26,000 for Salisbury Hospice Charity.

Visitors to the event near Tisbury on Saturday 2nd September found a selection of marquees with pre-loved vintage and designer clothes, while there was also antiques, collectables and household effects to find in the gardens.

There was also a raffle, a Compton McRae BBQ and music from local vocalist Charlie Greenwood.

The Hospice will benefit further from any unsold items as the stock is shared between local charity Alabaré and The Hospice Shop shared with Dorothy House in Salisbury.

Salisbury Hospice Charity thanked Sir Henry and Lady Rumbold for the use of Hatch House, with special thanks to Lady Rumbold, her family and her team of helpers for the many hours of organisation.

There was also thanks to the Tisbury committee for their hard work organising and running the event, as well as Hospice volunteers who helped the event run smoothly.

Lady Rumbold commented that she was “struck dumb” by people’s generosity in giving up their time to make the event a success.

Tamsin Murley, Community fundraiser for Salisbury Hospice Charity said the continued support from Sir Henry and Lady Rumbold is ‘phenomenal’, saying: “They are without doubt the heart and soul of this event.”
