The emergency gas works being carried out on Harnham Road is expected to completed by Friday 4th August.

Two-way signalling has been in place since 28th July as SGN have been responding to a mains gas leak, according to Harnham West Councillor Eleanor Wills.

Cllr Wills emailed Wiltshire Council on Tuesday (2nd August) regarding the works.

The council’s statement to her, which can be found on her Facebook page, said:

“Unfortunately, these works are to repair a mains gas leak with SGN are working hard to repair.

“We have requested that the lights are manuall controlled between 07:00 and 19:00 to monitor traffic queues however due to the location of the works this is still going to cause disruption to the wider network. We are receiving progress reports from SGN and hope for them to be off the network as soon as possible.”

Greatest Hits Radio contacted Wiltshire Council regarding the works, with the council confirming the works should be “off the road by Friday”.
