Over £17,500 was raised by celebrities and gamers for Naomi House & Jacksplace in their online gaming event "Game on!".

It's the third year the event has been held and this time Actor, James Buckley, best known for his role as Jay in the TV show 'The Inbetweeners', took part.

The hospice's virtual fundraiser saw individuals or groups play games while raising some money.

Players set challengers to help fundraise, some gamed for 24 hours and others set forfeits, like shaving their heads.

Naomi House & Jacksplace had originally set a £5,000 goal for the entire weekend, starting on the 26th and finishing on the 28th of March.

However, in the first few hours of James Buckley's stream he raised a total of £6,840.

The Actor help the hospice's triple their fundraising target

Comedian Glenn Moore and a streamer on gaming website Twitch, who goes by the name 'Sheila', also got involved to support the hospices.

The charity's event organiser, Connor Phillips, is over the moon with response;

"Everyone at Naomi House & Jacksplace has been blown away by the generosity of the online gaming community.

"We have been so grateful for not only James, Glenn and Sheila's support but all of our fantastic participants.

"The donations make such a huge difference to our hospices and enables our charity to care for life limited children, young adults and families. We cannot thank you all enough and hope to see you back at next year's Game On!''
