Police officers and staff at Hampshire Police have donated more than 1,200 Christmas presents for disadvantaged children.

The force has held its own Toy Appeal, with the gifts being sent out to help those in need over the festive season.

Officers and staff have donated items for children who are less fortunate this Christmas

Chief Constable Scott Chilton joined a team of holiday helpers to get the presents ready for charity partners. He said:

“As the holiday season approaches, we are reminded of the joy and warmth that Christmas brings into our lives. It's a time for family, friends, and the spirit of giving.

“However, for many children in our community, this season can be a stark reminder of what they lack.

“Our Christmas Toy Appeal is a campaign dedicated to bringing smiles to the faces of children who might otherwise go without.

“Every child deserves to experience the magic of Christmas, to wake up with excitement and find a gift waiting for them under the tree.

“Every box you see here represents a child who may not have had anything to unwrap on Christmas morning.

“The generosity of our officers and staff has made this possible and I just want to thank every single person who has donated. This truly is the season of giving."
