A free family day's being planned by Wiltshire Creative this February half term, taking over Bemerton Heath's Harlequins football club.

The popular Family Fiesta is coming back next Monday (12th February) between 11.00am and 3.00pm.

Activities on the day will include balloon modelling workshops, arts events, shows and other childrens' entertainment.

Anyone wanting to get involved is welcome to just turn up to Western Way on the day.

The half term break also sees Wiltshire Creative hosting a Make Music workshop for children aged 7 to 11.

That will include the return of beatboxer SK Shlomo to Salisbury, bringing their award-winning solo show, Breathe, to the city.

This all comes ahead of the Salisbury International Arts Festival for 2024 taking place from Sunday 26th May to Sunday 9th June.

The first part of that will be City Encounters, which includes free street theatre and arts events around the city centre.

Wiltshire Creative tells us Patch’s Parade will be the main feature of that.

Patch is a Giant who lives beneath Milford Street Bridge but dreams of venturing out into the exciting city of Salisbury to meet other Giants.

He's over six metres tall and is managed by nine puppeteers, wearing patchwork costumes, which have been handmade by community makers, from recycled materials, accompanied by local musicians and dancers.
