After the Prime Minister announced yesterday (Monday 22nd February) that non-essential businesses can reopen on April 12th, one Salisbury hairdresser had almost 300 bookings.

JAS Hair, which has stores in the city, saw their online appointment system go through a lot of work yesterday afternoon and evening.

In the last 12 months they have spent 32 out 52 weeks closed, so a lot of customers have been waiting a while to get their hair done.

Owner, Jayne Prigment, told Greatest Hits Radio:

"We obviously would have loved to be open earlier but I think having a day is really quite uplifting, it has certainly made me feel quite different to have a date to work towards and also for our team as well it is seven weeks which does seem quite a long wait but I understand the reasons why and just hope the data is going to keep remaining quite positive so we do get to open on the 12th of April.

We use an online booking system and it went absolutely crazy really from Boris in Parliament yesterday afternoon and then of course the announcement at 7pm so we've had nearly 300 appointments already booked in online which is an enormous amount but is something that is really uplifting of being a business owner we've got a day and we've actually got our guests booked in."

ROADMAP

Boris Johnson outlined his whole plan to get the country out of lockdown, which if works, will see the limits on social contact removed on June 21st.

There are 4 stages to his plan, each being 4/5 weeks apart to allow for the data to show whether we are still on track from the previous stage.

The first stage is getting all children back into school from the 8th March:
