Wiltshire Police are worried that a rise in graffiti in Salisbury city centre will lead to further crime and anti-social behaviour.

The force has been alerted to the issue by the City Council with the key areas being targeted, Churchill Way, The Greencroft, Winchester Street and St Ann Street.

Local underpasses have also been subject to spray painting.

Wiltshire Police have issued strong words on the issue.

"This graffiti is not art, and the offenders are not Banksy. This sort of damage does nothing to improve the area and public money is spent removing it as it often includes offensive language and it also promotes further crime and anti-social behaviour. "

"The 'tags' in these photos are individual to a single offender and we'd appreciate any information that people could provide which could help to identify them."

If you can help then call Wiltshire Police on 101 or if you want to remain anonymous then you can also contact Crimestoppers on 0800 500 111.
