GP surgery in Wilton damaged after vehicle crashes into building

Emergency services were called to the scene on Saturday

Fire crews and Police were called to South Street at 2.30 pm following a report of a traffic collision.

A campervan had collided with the Old Orchard Surgery.

A specialist heavy rescue unit from Redbridge Fire Station in Southampton along with a local crew from Wilton attended.

Nobody was hurt and after an inspection of the building no further action was required.

Wiltshire Police told Greatest Hits Radio;

"We responded to a report of a road traffic collision on South Street, Wilton, at approximately 2.30pm on Saturday (01/05). A Mazda Bongo had collided with The Orchard's Surgery, causing damage to the building. The driver of the vehicle was located and is assisting officers with their enquiries. No arrests have been made."

The Orchard Partnership described it as a "serious incident" and advised patients to avoid using the site except in certain circumstances
