15 year old girl suffers serious injuries after car flips near Downton

A 15 year old girl is in hospital but serious injuries after the car she was in left the road between Downton and Alderbury and flipped over.

The teenager was a front seat passenger when the Ford Ka left the road on a bend on Barford Lane at around 9:10pm last night, travelling from Alderbury towards Downton.

She is currently in Southampton Hospital in a critical but stable condition.

The driver - a 17-year-old girl - and a second passenger sustained shoulder and leg injuries and were taken to Salisbury Hospital.

Witherington Road was closed between Tunnel Hill junction at Alderbury and Barford Lane junction while enquiries were conducted at the scene and the road was cleared.

Wiltshire Police are hoping someone may have witnessed the incident and can help with their investigations.

They're urging anyone with dash cam footage to get in touch.
