12 year old girl robbed and assaulted in Salisbury city centre
A member of the public intervened to help the victim
A 12 year old girl's had her handbag stolen and been assaulted during an incident in Salisbury city centre.
The victim was approached by two females, thought to be aged between 12 and 14, in Fish Row, at around 9.00pm on Monday 1st May.
A member of the public intervened to help the girl, challenging the two culprits.
A description's been released of them:
- The first is white
- Curvy build
- Long dark red hair, which was down at the time
- Dressed all in black with white trainers
- The second is white
- Slim build
- Long dark hair, worn down
- Wearing a white top with a dark motif in the middle
- Brown trousers
- Black, red and white trainers
- Black jacket
Police believe there could have been witnesses to the incident, and have released photos of two people they think could help with enquiries.
Local Crime Investigator Suzanne Stone said:
“We believe that there were a number of members of the public in the area at the time who may have witnessed the incident.
"This includes a group of three teenage girls who walked past between 8.45pm and 9pm, a delivery man on a bicycle wearing a woolly hat, who cycled through Fish Row and stopped near Reeve the Baker and a man believed to be aged in his late 30s or 40s, wearing black trousers and a red and black jacket, carrying a large green backpack and camping mat. This man intervened and helped the victim and we are really keen to speak to him.”
