Family and friends will gather at Salisbury Cathedral today for the funeral of Freddie Fontete- Jones.

The popular 23 year old passed away in hospital with his family by his side three days after he was fatally inured in an assault in New Canal in the early hours of February 20th.

Hundreds of people are expected to pay tribute to the popular Salisbury man described as 'a beacon for the younger generation.'

His sister Emma called him the "Mayor of Salisbury" because he had "so, so many friends".

Members of the local club he played for, Laverstock and Ford, are expected to attend along with colleagues at Berry Telecom in Old Sarum where he worked.

More than £40,000 was raised for his funeral arrangements, after friend set up a GoFundMe page to give Freddie "the celebration worthy of the young king he was".
