The Royal Oak in Fritham will be making an appearance on our TV screens tonight as they welcomed a couple of special guests.
They were visited by well known TV presenters Fred Sirieix and Chris Bavin last Autumn.
They were filming an episode of 'Remarkable Places to Eat' for BBC which focused on special food producers and restaurants from across the New Forest.
Manager Cathy Wilson told Greatest Hits Radio that they were very excited to be featured:
"We were contacted last year in the late summer which said that Chris Bevin has suggested us as one of the places he had visited when he was younger with his own family and that he would like to share it with Fred Sirieix as one of the places that was remarkable in the New Forest.
It was such an honour to be contacted, asked to be on the show, it's just nice to be recognised for all of hard work and everything that we stand for. It's really important to us that we remain with our values of how we would like to run as a pub and that people want to share that on the television.
The recognition has given us a fantastic boost, along with our Country Pub of the Year award that we received we've had such amazing recognition so while it has been an incredibly difficult year we've got so many things that have made it much better for us and we just look forward to reopening in a way that demonstrates what we are all about.
I'm so excited about seeing it tonight but I am a little nervous, I obviously saw some of it being recorded but the bits I didn't see was what I was in, Chris Bavin and I had such a fantastic time in the kitchen, he was so friendly along with Fred, we had a lot of laughs and it was just really nice to talk to someone that has an interest, knowledge and a connection with our pub."
In the programme Cathy shows Chris how they make the perfect ploughman's.
You can catch the programme on BBC Two at 8pm tonight.
