For people in the Salisbury area struggling with the cost-of-living crisis, help is available from Community Money Advice (CMA) South Wiltshire.
The service is a free, confidential and face-to-face support to help resolve financial problems.
One of CMA’s Money Mentors Liz Dore explained further: “It’s focused on meeting people's needs. If they're struggling with debt or finding it difficult to manage their household budget, or they just want to talk things through with someone. It's to help them balance the budget and try and work out what to do over the longer term."
With the spiralling costs of food, energy and rent, more and more people are finding it difficult to balance their budget.
Liz told us: “Many people can feel quite overwhelmed by this situation. And of course, if you don't tackle these issues, there's all sorts of problems that can arise, not just debt but also potentially homelessness. If people can't pay their rent and so on.
“So, it's a really it's a really big issue and I think we're all just seeing these really big increases at the moment and sometimes it's hard to know where to turn.”
The service covers much of South Wiltshire, including Salisbury, Amesbury and Tidworth.
