Fourth peregrine falcon egg at Salisbury Cathedral
Peregrine parents in for a busy time!
A fourth peregrine falcon egg has been laid in the nest box on the tower at Salisbury Cathedral.
It appeared rather aptly yesterday on Mothering Sunday.
Peregrine falcons can lay up to five eggs, although that is quite unusual so we may well have seen the last of the egg laying.
Once all the eggs are laid the falcons will start to incubate them and it'll be around a month before they hatch.
Last year all four eggs successfully hatched and fledged.
Meanwhile Cathedral bosses need your help to name the parents, they're looking for names with a floral or fauna theme to tie in with flower festival later this year.
