After a few days break, the peregrine falcons at Salisbury Cathedral have laid another egg.

That makes it four for the year so far, which normally would be it for the birds.

It appeared in the nest box on the Cathedral's live stream cameras yesterday (Tuesday 23rd March).

They posted a video of it happening on their Twitter page:

Last year four eggs were laid with all of them hatching, but incubation will only begin when the full clutch has appeared.

The incubation period can take approximately 29-30 days, meaning the chicks could hatch in mid to late April.

You can watch the peregrines' progress on Salisbury Cathedral's website.
