Four people have been given fixed penalty notices after there was a gathering at a home in Salisbury.

Officers attended the property in Centurion Close on Tuesday (19th January) after getting reports of multiple people inside the house.

When the force arrived they handed out £200 fines to four people and told them to leave the property.

Wiltshire Police are now reminding people of the Covid-19 rules.

Gathering with people inside, other than those you live with or those in a support bubble, is not permitted under the current COVID regulations.

Three men were handed fines in the New Forest after driving to the national park from the Isle of Wight via Dorset.

Yesterday (21st Jan) Home Secretary Priti Patel announced that fines of £800 will be given to anyone attending a house party of more than 15 people from next week.

These will then double for each repeat offence to a maximum of £6,400.
