A Fordingbridge playgroup has been given £4,500 of support, thanks to shoppers at the town's Co-op store.

The cash has come from the supermarket's Local Community Fund, for the Avon Valley Community Matters charity, which runs the group.

Reverend Kate Wilson of Avon Valley Churches collected the cheque at the Fordingbridge store and said:

“I am so pleased to collect these generous funds on behalf of our thriving playgroup Superstars. Thank you so much to all those who donated and to the Co-op team for supporting our charity. The funds will be put to very good use providing support and sensory toys for children with special needs to use at our weekly sessions.”
