Floral tributes laid for motorcyclist killed in Dinton crash

Flowers and cards have been laid on the side of the B3089 where a motorcyclist was killed in a crash on Wednesday.

It happened at around 7pm that night in Dinton, next to the Parish Council notice board, about 50 to 100 yards up the road from the Wyndham pub.

Tomorrow (Monday 27th December.) a 42-year-old from Mere is due to appear before Swindon Magistrates' Court, charged for the murder of the 43-year-old rider.

Det Insp Simon Childe, who is the Senior Investigating Officer, said:

“I would like to start by offering my sincere condolences to the family of the victim and we will continue to support them throughout this with specialist officers.

“This charge has come through hard work and dedication of not just those in the Major Crime Investigation Team but all areas of Wiltshire Police."

Formal identification of the motorcyclist is still being carried out.

Police have asked that the privacy of the family is respected at this difficult time.
