A Hampshire County Council initiative aims to support local people and help improve their mental wellbeing during the coronavirus pandemic.

FIVE WAYS TO WELLBEING

According to research, there are five ways to look after our mental wellbeing:

o connecting with others

o being active

o continuing to learn

o giving to others in your community

o take notice

A dedicated online resource has just been updated and expanded with fresh information, tips and resources to address the challenges we faced in lockdown and its aftermath.

Councillor Judith Grajewski, Executive Member for Public Health at Hampshire County Council, said:

"We recognise it has been a very difficult time for many and for some, this may have been the first time they have experienced difficulties - so now, more than ever, it is vital to look after your mental health. The Five Ways to Wellbeing online resource offers simple and proven actions to boost your mental wellbeing and help you become more resilient when life gets tough."

"We are encouraging everyone to build the five ways into their daily life to stay healthy and active and in Hampshire there are many opportunities to get you started. This could be by connecting with people around you via online chat or a socially distanced walk in one of our country parks... Hampshire has many digital learning opportunities to keep your brain active, increase your self-confidence and inspire others - a great place to start is looking for what's available on the Keep Learning section of the online toolkit."
