A large scale fire's broken out at a recycling centre and scrapyard near Pewsey.

Firefighters were called out at around 2.45pm this afternoon (Thursday 8th June).

They've said the smoke plume is drifting towards Pewsey village, so local people are advised to keep doors and windows closed.

The incident's likely to be ongoing through the evening.

Crews from Pewsey, Devizes, Stratton, Westlea, Salisbury, Trowbridge and Swindon are in attendance.

They're also getting support from Hampshire Fire and Rescue (Andover) and Berkshire & Oxfordshire Fire and Rescue (Newbury and Hungerford).

The B3087 between Pewsey and Easton Royal has been closed while emergency services are at the scene.
