A Fire and Glass Walk in Salisbury's Guildhall Square has raised £27,000 for the city's Hospice charity.

83 people took part, making their way across hot coals and broken glass last Friday night (17th February).

Everyone taking part had a training session that took just an hour before their 'mind-over-matter' challenge.

Professional company, Firewalk UK, took the participants through the event.

The brave souls all wanted to raise money for Salisbury Hospice, towards their work with terminally ill patients, both at the hospice site and through their At Home respite.

The youngest walker was 16 years old, and the oldest was 78.

Abi Blake from Salisbury Hospice said:

"We are so proud of all our participants for showing great bravery on behalf of Salisbury Hospice. This amazing total is a complete testament to them and their incredible fundraising efforts. A huge thank you to all who fundraised and also our kind sponsor Nucleus.”
