If you spotted fire-fighters and engines at Salisbury Cathedral then don't worry it was just an exercise.

Crews from Dorset and Wiltshire Fire and Rescue scaled the West Front early on Tuesay morning (3rd May) to test their equipment and processes in case there's an incident in the future.

Group Manager Wayne Presley said:

“As a Fire and Rescue Service, it’s important that we regularly train to deal with the wide range of incidents we can be called to attend. With Salisbury Cathedral being a significant and historically important landmark within our service area, frequent testing of our procedures and capabilities in realistic environments such as the Cathedral, ensures we are best prepared when needed to respond.”

Meanwhile Cathedral bosses say it also gave those involved some 'stunning views' of the Cathedral Close!
