Fire-fighters called to blaze in Hampshire church roof

Crews were called to a fire in the roof of a church in West Hampshire yesterday morning (20th November).
Smoke was seen billowing from the roof of St Michael's and All Angels in Weyhill just before 9:00am
Crews found a fire in an electrical consumer unit.
Fire fighters from Salisbury, Andover and Winchester along with the aerial platform ladder from Basingstoke attended.
The blaze was extinguished by firefighters in breathing apparatus using hoses, jets before the crews then checked for any fire spread and dampened down.
Firefighters helped to ventilate the building to clear residual smoke as they waited for the electricity board to attend and isolate the power.
