Period actors have been spotted in the Cathedral Close

The area around Myles Place, a four storey home dating back to 1718, has been cordoned off.

Sophia Sample told Greatest Hits Radio Salisbury is was amazing to see the film crews

"I work at the museum, a few doors down from Myles Place, so it's been fascinating to see them transforming the normally immaculate house into the overgrown derelict Miss Havisham's house over the last week. This week we've had fake fog rolling out across the close, and horses and carriages trotting around. It gives you a real sense of what the close might have looked like in times gone by. So far I've spotted the young Pip, being filmed arriving at Miss Havisham's gates. I hear there may be fake snow being brought in over the next few weeks, so I look forward to seeing the close transformed again!"

The Vicar of the Close, Nigel Davies has had a prime view of the filming too!

The period drama has attracted fans to the Cathedral Close keen to try and get a glimse of the action.

Filming is expected to last all week and it's understood crews will be back again next month.
