Wiltshire's Chief Constable is holding a Facebook Live question and answer session later.

The Force want to reassure members of the public about interacting with police officers.

Following the murder of Sarah Everardin London Wiltshire Police says it's aware of safety concerns, particularly from women.

Any questions you have will be answered by Kier Pritchard, however if you are unable to attend, they can be sent in advanced here.

Wiltshire Police Chief Constable, Kier Pritchard, said:

“We appreciate that the onus is on us, as a police service, to proactively offer any additional reassurance we can to the communities we serve.

“We are here to protect and serve you and we understand that you might questions of comments on how we work to achieving that.”

At the beginning of October Wiltshire Police promised to offer a simple verification process to the public which will allow them to confirm that the officer is on duty.

All officers will now proactively offer to carry out this verification check to anyone they engage with who appears concerned for their safety or vulnerable by putting their personal issue radio on loudspeaker and asking a member of our control room to confirm who they are and that they are on duty.

The Facebook Live session will start 5:30pm on the Wiltshire Police Facebook Page.
