The family of an 11 year old boy, who died in a crash on the A303 near Stonehenge, have paid tribute to him.

Charles Cobbe was killed when the car he was in collided with a lorry parked in a westbound layby at around 7.30pm on Saturday July 8th.

A man in his 40s and a 15 year old suffered serious injuries.

In a statement, released through Wiltshire Police, the family have said:

“As the youngest of three wonderful siblings, Charles was the golden-haired centre of our family. We will miss his life-loving and caring nature every day. It is impossible to imagine the future without him.

“Charles was deeply loved by his family, his friends and our dog Lettice, who magically survived the deeply tragic accident.

“He will be missed and remembered forever. Rest in peace, my darling."

Witness appeal ongoing

Wiltshire Police say they're still investigating the collision and are asking anyone with dash cam footage to contact them.

Investigating officer DC Charlotte Upton of the Serious Collision Investigation Team (SCIT) said:

“This was a tragic incident where a young boy has sadly lost his life.

“We are making a renewed appeal for anyone who witnessed the incident or who may have dash cam footage from either side of the carriageway at around that time to please get in touch with us.

“If you were travelling through Wiltshire via the A303 that evening, or perhaps heading to Stonehenge, then please check any dash cam footage you have to see if it captured anything which could help us with our investigation.

“Any little bit of information could be vital in helping us piece together what happened.”
