The Fabulous Family Fun Day fundraiser for Salisbury Hospice Charity has raised more than £20,000.

It's the most its ever raised, with a record attendance too.

The event, which is held in memory of Lyn Futcher, took place on Saturday (14th May) at Salisbury Rugby Club.

A touch rugby and a football tournament were both held

It saw 16 football and 8 touch rugby teams play tournaments, together with family entertainment including a live music stage, children’s entertainment, tombola and a beer tent.

In total they raised £20,186.

Organiser Greig Futcher said:

"I am truly astounded by this fantastic total and the number of people who so kindly attended on the day. It was a great day, we were truly blessed by the weather. I think you might even be able to say it was a “Fantastic” Family Fun Day!

"A huge thank you must go to my fellow committee members (friends), without whom this wouldn’t be possible. Thanks also goes to Salisbury Rugby Club, our team of dedicated volunteers, performers, sponsors, exhibitors and all who made this day such a resounding success. Not forgetting, of course, our generous headline sponsor Hendy Group.

"We are delighted to announce the Fabulous Family Fun Day will be returning on Saturday 13th of May 2023 and next year we will be focusing on how to make the event even better! Watch this space."
