Salisbury's Fabulous Family Fun Day breaks records!
The 10th edition has raised £31,000 for Salisbury Hospice
The latest Fabulous Family Fun Day at Salisbury Rugby Club has been a record breaker!
The 10th annual event saw huge numbers turn out in the sunshine, and has raised £31,000 for Salisbury Hospice.
The event, sponsored by Ozweld International, which included a touch rugby tournament, supported by Adam's Autos and a football competition, backed by Jones & Co.
Live music, children's activities and a prize raffle helped to draw in the crowds too.
The fun day was first organised in memory of Lyn Futcher, who had care from Salisbury Hospice, before she passed away.
Chairman of the fundraising committee, and Lyn's husband, Greig Futcher reacted to the record-breaking day by saying:
"That’ll do! Brilliant – thank you so much everybody."
Tamsin Murley, Community Fundraiser for Salisbury Hospice Charity said:
"I am once more humbled by how incredibly hard this dedicated committee of Greig, Sarah, Spencer, Sam, Clare and Jason work; they are truly remarkable.
"We are also so very grateful to Ozweld International, Salisbury Rugby Club and everyone who supported us in many different ways to put on this wonderful event. To raise £31,000 in one day is a remarkable achievement; every penny raised will go towards funding the vital services that the hospice provides, free of charge, to members of the community."
