'Extremely limited' trains from Salisbury TODAY
The latest strike action's affecting South Western Railway services
Train passengers are warned there'll be an 'extremely limited' service on South Western Railway (SWR) today (Wednesday 6th December).
Members of the ASLEF union, which represents train drivers, are taking industrial action in a row over pay and conditions.
The strike means there'll only be a shuttle service from Salisbury to Basingstoke and back once an hour.
Passengers wanting to get to London will need to change at Basingstoke for one service per hour to Waterloo.
Trains will also only operate between 7.00am and 7.00pm.
A landslip at Crewkerne is also affecting services to Exeter St David's, with passengers warned no services with be running until Monday (11th December).
Stuart Meek, Chief Operating Officer for South Western Railway, said:
“We’re sorry that national industrial action will again impact SWR services. ASLEF will take strike action on Wednesday 6th December, meaning we will run an extremely limited service, and we must urge our customers to only travel if absolutely necessary on that day.
“We know that this is a busy time of year as we approach Christmas, so we would like to thank customers for their continued patience and understanding.”
